Since the Native game isn't updating, and a few issues with the mod can be easily fixed, I've put together v4.23 to add more polish and shine.

New Feature:

After Ramun joins you, he can help you get and completely custom-equip galley slaves or arena fighters to travel with your party.
Their numbers are limited, but Ramun can find more for you to hire every day.
You can fill a total of nine item slots on these troops, the items given to them are chosen from your first inventory slot (top left). You have to pay the item's cost to supply the troops with it.
If you make changes to their equipment after hiring them it may take up to 24 hours for it to update.

Fixes:

- Four types of throwing weapons that were left out of merchants are now for sale - Throwing Knives, Throwing Blades, Steel Daggers, Assasin Daggers.
- Six types of bows that were left out of merchants are now for sale - Primitive Bow, Piercing Bow, Hunting Bow, Bow of Carnage, Battle Bow, Ancient Bow.
- Fixed price in the dialogue about traveling to Illumination Age.
- I think I fixed the shiny Vaegir cavalry armor, Caravan Guard armor and Bounty Hunter armor (the ones with capes), but you have to get the full archive for that change, not the patch.

- Fixed inconsistency in Dranton's dialogue.
- Fixed problem with Dranton's quests when several stacks of prisoners are brought.
- Fixed name of Bear Clan Scouts quest in the Quest Log (thanks Radegast)
- Fixed appearance of blades on belt even when drawn for Large Scimitar, Samson Blade, Atlantic Blade


Balance Adjustments:

 
- Troops in player party have even less effect on amount of loot than before, 1/4th of Native, used to be 1/2 of Native. Increased base chance of loot slightly.
- Rolf knows power strike instead of power draw. Borcha knows power draw and horse archery. Four main NPC heroes slightly raised in level.
- Base player party size limit raised from 10 to 20. Increase per Leadership point raised from 6 to 7. Increase per Charisma point raised from 2 to 3.
- Defined 8 Tiers of troops and reassigned them to some troops. In general lower troop levels - means faster upgrades. Wage differences between tiers are large, so that getting a troop to upgrade is easier, but you really have to decide if you want to upgrade or not. A large army of lower tier troops is now more viable compared to a smaller army of top-tier and Elite troops, low tier troops do not lose their significance in the gameplay. Increased player party sizes help that. To upgrade or not to upgrade is no longer always 'Yes, upgrade!', you have to think how much you can afford to pay, and whether it would be wise to stick with lower tier troops for now. Higher tier troops cost a lot more, but if you can win a battle with a smaller party of them you'll get more loot and will be able to pay the wages.

Tier 1, level 6, str 30, agi 16, base wage 3 gold
Tier 2, level 12, str 34, agi 20, base wage 18 gold
Tier 3, level 18, str 38, agi 24, base wage 55 gold
Tier 4, level 24, str 42, agi 26, base wage 122 gold
Tier 5, level 30, str 46, agi 28, base wage 231 gold
Tier 6, level 36, str 50, agi 30, base wage 391 gold
Tier 7 (elite), level 51, str 100, agi 30, base wage 1072 gold
Tier 8 (veteran elite), level 60, str 140, agi 30, base wage 1723 gold
(wages are reduced by 4% per Leadership level, raised from 3% per Leadership level in 4.22)


Tier 1 troops (3 gold):
Farmer, Townsman, Fisherman, Caravan Guard (foot), Major faction recruits, Shipwrecked Sailor, Bear Clan Tribesman, Refugee, Peasant Woman.

Tier 2 troops (18 gold):
Militia, Saracen, Swadian Militia, Vaegir Footman, Khergit Hunter, Onyx Wanderer, Deer Hunter, Outlaw, Bear Warrior, Camp Follower, Camp Huntress, Caravan Master.

Tier 3 troops (55 gold):
Mounted Caravan Guard, Mercenary, Highway Robber, Northman, Bear Hunter, Swadian Footman, Swadian Infantry, Swadian Heavy Skirmisher, Rhodok Spearman, Rhodok Skirmisher, Vaegir Skirmisher, Vaegir Veteran, Vaegir Light Horseman, Khergit Warrior, Nord Warrior, Nord Wildman, Onyx Footman, Onyx Soldier, White Bandit, Manhunter, Mounted Bear Warrior, Khergit Guard, Camp Defender.

Tier 4 troops (122 gold):
Veteran Mercenary, Cutthroat, Veteran Caravan Guard, Swadian Pikeman, Swadian Heavy Infantry, Rhodok Warrior, Vaegir Archer, Vaegir Infantry, Vaegir Horseman, Khergit Mounted Warrior, Berserker, Nord Axe-thrower, Onyx Veteran Footman, Onyx Pilgrim, North Cavalry, Saracen Cavalry, Ahab, Grizzly Warrior, Bounty Hunter, Khergit Royal Guard, Sister of Dawn, Fearsome Warrior.

Tier 5 troops (231 gold):
Protector, Swadian Heavy Pikeman, Swadian Shock Troop, Swadian Man-at-Arms, Vaegir Marksman, Vaegir Guard, Khergit Heavy Swordsman, Nord Champion, Onyx Heavy Infantry, Mamluk, Onyx Brother, Bear Clan Leader, Legendary Warrior.

Tier 6 troops (391 gold):
Swadian Knight, Goliath Warrior, Khergit Lancer, Horseman of Reyvadin, Onyx Destroyer, Onyx Elder Brother, Sister of First Light.

Tier 7 troops (1072 gold):
Ironclad Guard, Ranger of Reyvadin, Khergit Scourge, Fighting Nord Monk, Warlord, Onyx Templar, Warlord of the North, Master, Eater of the Dead, Guardian of Light.

Tier 8 troops (1723 gold):
Veteran Ironclad, Veteran Ranger, Veteran Scourge, Veteran Warlord, Veteran Templar.

- Effect of Charisma (luck) on wound/death/recovery outcome reduced to 1/2. Now Charisma of 8 only has penalty of 1% not 2%, Charisma of 18 has bonus of 4% not 8%, etc.
- Life Charm bonus reduced from +7 on the wound/death/recovery scale to +5.
- Default chance of death on knockout reduced from 30% [1-30] to 20% [1-20], chance of recovery then increased by 10%, and wound outcomes moved down on the scale.
- Wound Score has a penalty of -1 on the wound/death/recovery scale per 20 wound points instead of per 25.


- Reduced maximum number of White Bandit, Manhunter, Robber, and Bear Clan Band parties from 10 to 7.
- Some minor cosmetic troop equipment adjustmens.
- Reduced frequency of player party reinforcement with minor faction ally troops and sisters of light.
- Heroes in player party count for 4 instead of 5 regular troops for loot sharing purposes.
- Slightly higher proportion of lower tier troops in Lords parties and garrisons.
- Fewer Fighting Monks in Nord parties, more Champions.
- More Knights and Heavy Pikemen in Swadian parties.
- Vaegir Archer and Marksman have lower melee weapon proficiency, slightly higher bow proficiency.
- Swadian Pikeman and Heavy Pikeman have +1 power strike.
- Swadian Knights have +2 shield and +2 ironflesh. Military Mace carried by Swadian Knights changed from 16 blunt to 20 pierce damage.
- Ironclad Guard now carry one handed maces and shields instead of mauls.
- All Veteran elites have +1 ironflesh, +40 weap. proficiency.
- Khergit Hunter and Heavy Swordsman have +1 power draw.
- Speed of 'Krom' weapon reduced from 130 to 105.
- Sharpened Sticks' reach reduced from 148 to 108, damage changed from piercing to cutting to reflect less armor penetration ability of wooden spears.
- Throwing Sharpened Stick's damage changed from piercing to cutting, shot speed increased from 45 to 55.
- Protection and price of 'Scale Armor' increased slightly.
- Inhertance starting option gives +20,000 gold instead of +4,500.
- Onyx Elder Brothers can carry Templar Swords, making them slightly more dangerous and making the sword easier to find.
- Khergit Guards no longer have guaranteed helms, Khergit Royal Guards now have guaranteed helms.
- Rangers of Reyvadin have change to wear helms, have 5 power strike instead of 7.
- Patrick has +5 Spotting, an old sword instead of knife.
- Removed 'Onyx Brotherhood Templar' as the messanger.
- Reduced cost of hiring Fearsome Warrior from 7000 to 5000.

Some minor issues that could be fixed/changed IMHO:

- Attacking some of the factioned roaming armies, doesn't affect your relationship towards the faction. (scout parties and some others)
- Some of the Lords are wearing just pants when in castles, instead of some fancy clothing
- A quest type of thing would be nice when you join a faction that would reward the 'book' for that said faction. As it is now, it is a bit tedious if you are unlucky with the trainers food quest...
- Messenger guy should have a fast horse, now he seems to be on foot always, doesn't match the map speed nor does it feel logical..
- would be nice if you could select 'immortals' to command in battle (like you can select archers, mounted etc). I think I saw code for that but I guess there is no key assigned for it?

What is a goal of it?
Is it just wish to increase party size?
Then I suppose it would be better to increase renown effect  instead of charism and leadership.

I think it is too much. Tier 1-4 should cost less 100. I suggest to increase shift and div.

I'd propose to change Rolf's (and others) stats.
For me it is strange that he is somehow specialized with bows and thrown weapons but carrying twohander and heavy armor.
So I'd change knows_common to something like

Other characters:

Marnid as a merchant should know better how to use crossbow and polearm (wp_crossbow_200)

wow, lots of really nice changes  :D

I must say that i dislike the new prices of troops tho  :| .A big part of gameplay for me is to develop my own troops, i just dont get the same immersion when i run around with bunch of recruits, that i do when i have a tight group of elites behind my back. I usually kill everything from faction parties to saracen horde with a group of NPC's and about 50 veteran elites, at this version that will cost over 90000 a week even with leadership 10  :(

Anyways enough of the gripe, i can see where you are going with your changes and maybe its time to change my gameplay a bit, keep up the great work :)

I too must make a complaint concerning the troop prices. It's odd that the new Vaegir Marksman costs as much as a current Veteran Ranger. I suppose I'll adapt appropriately. No more Rangers for me.........

I, however, am not the modder. If Chel thinks the new prices are good for the mod, they must be. I'm just wondering why? Is it to prevent Elite abuse? To add difficulty?

Aye. There is no such thing as Nord Mail. The one you use is Saracen Mail and it is different from what Nord troops use. I asked the same question some time ago:

the Saracen one is a less-green more-gray version of the nord mail, its a different item. At least that's how it is meant to be..
Nord troops use item called Mail Hauberk (weight 14, +18 body armor, +16 leg armor, required strength 17).
It can be bought from traders from time to time. Good luck hunting ;)

I'll reduce the wages a bit, either to a square scale, or an even more scaled-down cubic.
But when the top tier troops are expencive it makes the balance between low and high tier troops better, the low tier are no longer just fodder and waiting to be elites -- it now makes sence to have an army of 80 Tier1-3 units and 20 Tier 5-7 units and try to win battles with that instead of 50 Tier 8 units (veteran elites).

An army composition with more low tier troops and fewer high tier troops is more realistic than an all elite army, and making an all elite army very very expencive is better for the gameplay I think.

Everyone sieges castles and cities with top tier troops, and it is less challenging when the defenders have only 10%-20% top tier troops and the rest are weaker. Try sieging a castle with a bunch for fishermen :)

I'm playing now as Wildman of Wercheg Radegast the Redbeard and I'm lucky to find one every now and then in shops. All my NPCs are wearing those except from Rolf who is ironclad killing machine with his twohander :)
I was also very lucky to find in Zendar chest excellent Heavy Emperor Sword with around 30 damage. :D

I'm searching it for 1 month and nothing... I was so desperate and i used force against my Nord brethren  :) :oops: killed 10 patrols and only rusty hauberks... what the hell ?  :P
My best loot from chest...
I think in Rivacheg i found Crude Silver Armor, the worst ragged Khergit warrior cap  :lol:

I scaled down the prices, these should be good. I will also increase proportion of lower tier troops in lord's armies slightly.

What about castle garrions? Isn't there too high number of middle tier troops respect to lower tier troops?
